If you are considering what you might want or need as the end of your life draws near you might be (and probably are) feeling a bit overwhelmed. Whether you will be surrounded by caregivers and loved ones or find yourself alone, there are questions. There are needs. And there are solutions to both.

I am here to help you hone in on those questions and needs, find those answers and put everything in place. I am here to support you.

There is a door directly in front of you that, once opened, will lead to a world of greater calm and peace. This is what you will find when you have your thoughts and affairs in order, knowing that no matter what happens, you are prepared. And knowing that you have a person who is there solely to help you and make your life easier. I exist in the doula role to help you find that space of calm and relaxation. To help you identify the things that you would like to have done so you get the end-of-life you desire and so that your loved ones can be clear on how they can fulfill your wishes.

What can a death doula do for you?

Every death doula offers slightly different options when it comes to helping our clients. But what we all have in common is that we are non-medical providers brought in to assist a person and/or their loved ones and caregivers in navigating through the end-of-life process. We often work alongside hospice or palliative care to provide you with a source of knowledge, comfort and support in accomplishing those items still needing to be “checked off” a list, talking with you about what your end-of-life might look or feel like, working with friends and family to care for and support you, and then ultimately supporting those folks in the period following your death. And there are as many ways to make all that happen as there are death doulas, so you can ask for literally anything! And if I can’t or don’t offer a service you want or need, I’ll just bet I can find a doula who does.

You may find you have just one single need or you may have a desire for a whole array of support services. That is what I mean by making this personal. In the end, what I can offer you is the support you need to prepare for and manage your death - physically, spiritually and emotionally.
